Ripley Man Arrested for Commercial Burglary

daniel lennie rogersUNION COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Ripley logger is behind bars, after deputies say he broke into a customer’s storage building while on the job.

Union County deputies have arrested 43-year-old Daniel Rogers, and charged him with commercial burglary.

Rogers was working for Settlemires Logging at a home on Highway 30 east last week.

Sheriff Jimmy Edwards says when the residents and other loggers left, Rogers had stacked up some items in the storage building, ready to take them, when the residents came home and caught him in the act.

Edwards says he took off in his logging vehicle, but they later caught him.

Rogers’ bond was set at $10,000.
