COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-Students at Immanuel Christian School in Columbus were inspired Monday by nuts, bolts, and robots.

The Starkville Christian School CougarBots Robotics Team visited Monday morning and showed off some of the robots they’re building. The team made an outreach and recruiting presentation about the BEST program or Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology competition.

“To have more schools because that gives you more teams to compete against, more friendships and it also increases the number of robots. Getting out there presenting, you learn more than just robotics in robotics competition,” explained Starkville Christian’s Caleb Jordan.

The program works to inspire kids in engineering, science, and math using sports-like competitions.  Armstrong Middle School will host the next robotics competition on October 26-27.
