Video: Saltillo Veterans Day Program

SALTILLO, Miss. (WCBI)- Veterans day is the day we set aside to honor those who has served our country.

Schools throughout out the state today, held programs to honor these braves individuals.

At Saltillo Elementary Unite States Representative and Iraq War veteran Trent Kelly talked to students.

The Saltillo native is a Colonel in the Army National Guard.

He says joining the military is one of the best decisions he’s ever made.

The Congressman says it was as humbling experience for him to return to his home and speak to students.
“This one is extremely important because my 10 year old, my fourth grader is here so it’s very important to be here and let him see the reasons he should serve this nation in the future and it’s important just to recognize these veterans all over America who have served,” Kelly said.

Next month will mark Kelly’s 30th year serving in the Army National Guard.
