Salvation Army Angel Tree

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-With less than three months away from Christmas and the Salvation Army wants to make sure children in the area get their wish. The organization is currently taking application for its annual Angel Tree promotion. People in the area who want to be on the list need to come in to the office and sign up as soon as possible.

“We need to let them know that tomorrow starting at one o’clock…is the deadline. they’ve got to come in if were going to be able to help them. Christmas, they’ve gotta come, we gotta get this done we don’t want to over look any children that need Christmas. and if they don’t show up and they come Friday or they come next week its gonna be too late,” says Susan Gilbert, Director of Social Security for the Salvation Army.

The angel tree will be set up at the Leigh Mall and open for donations from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. starting November 17th.  The tree will have cards with wishes from local children. You can also donate stockings, sponsor a family, and distribute gifts to families for Christmas.
