Sanitation Costs Increase in Amory

[bitsontherun chhlEJCG] AMORY, Miss.(WCBI)-Starting Monday (10-1) Amory customers will see a increase in their garbage bills. The board of alderman voted unanimously last week to raise sanitation rates by two dollars a month per customer. This is response to the rising fuel prices. The sanitation department uses the most fuel only second to the police department. Officials say sanitation bills are still lower than other city’s in the area. The last time the city of Amory raised rates was when gasoline averaged two dollars and fifty cents at the pump.
