Video: Sanitation Rates to Increase in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Starkville residents and small businesses owners will soon see a sanitation rate increase.

Beginning October 1, residential rates will increase 75 cents, while small business collection fees will increase $5.

Those who participate in the Starkville’s recycling program will be charged $2 a month for the service. Previously it was free.

Collections will also move from once every two weeks to once a week.

Mayor Parker Wiseman says the increase will fund equipment upgrades.
