School Board Looks at Houlka Building Footprint

HOULKA, Miss. (WCBI) — School leaders in Houlka are working on rebuilding a school destroyed by a fire last summer.

The Chickasaw County school board trustees are still working on a building timeline for the Houlka Attendance Center.

Architects recently showed them a building footprint.

The proposed new building is a little more than 13,000 square feet with 12 classrooms, plus offices and bathrooms.

The halls are in a t-shape.

Trustees are expected to make a decision about the floor plan at their next meeting.
