TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – SeaPort Airlines is requesting to end air service at Tupelo Regional Airport by November 13th.

Tupelo Regional Airport Executive Director Cliff Nash says the airline filed the paperwork with the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Now, D.O.T. will request airlines submit proposals to provide service in Tupelo.

Nash says the community will eventually meet to hear the proposals, then one carrier will be selected.

Once that happens, SeaPort will be released from its contract.

Nash doesn’t expect the airport to be without air service for an extended period of time.
