Video: ‘Senior Day’ Draws Hundreds to Ag Center

PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) — It was a special day for hundreds of senior citizens in Pontotoc County.

Senior Day is held each year and it is organized by the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department, as a way to educate senior citizens about various scams and to also give them opportunities to visit with various vendors.

“We had Public Service Commissioner , Brandon Presley, he had a booth here, police department, we had a lot of different agencies, public safety all had booths here to help educate seniors about identity theft and people calling them, we have been having scams where people claiming to be IRS,” Sheriff Leo Mask said.

The sheriff says anyone getting calls from alleged IRS agents should call his office.
