Separate Investigations Lead To Three Arrests In Lowndes County

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (Press Release) – On Friday September 11, 2015 Agents with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit arrested Stephen Mark Kesler and Katherine L. Ramos for drug charges. The arrests stemmed from an investigation targeting methamphetamine in Lowndes County. The two were stopped on a traffic stop by narcotics agents at a service station near the Highway 82 and Highway 45 South intersection where they were taken into custody.
Stephen Mark Kesler, 34, of Crawford was placed under arrest and charged with Sale of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), sale of a controlled substance ( Xanax), and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Kesler was transported to the Lowndes County detention Center where he was awaiting a bond to be set.
Katherine L. Ramos, 40, of Columbus was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). She was transported to the Lowndes County Detention Center where she is awaiting a bond to be set.

On Tuesday September 15, 2015 members of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Warrants Division who are also members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested Travis M. Jones III. Jones was wanted on warrants issued by the Narcotics Unit for drug charges stemming from an investigation that ended last Spring involving the distribution of illegal narcotics in Lowndes County.
Travis M. Jones III, 35, of Columbus was arrested and charged with Sale of a controlled substance (marijuana), Sale of a controlled substance (Cocaine), and Sale of a controlled substance (Hydrocodone). Jones was booked in at the Lowndes County Detention Center where he will remain until a bond hearing.
