Sewage Suit To Go To Trial
CORINTH, MS (WCBI) – A Corinth woman and the city will meet in court to decide if the city is responsible for sewer damage to her home.
Alesa Crums home was damaged when a city sewer line backed up during a March 2012 flood. An inspection of the line turned out that roots had grown into a manhole and blocked the line. Crum was told the city would repair her home but when that didn’t happen she sued. An Alcorn County judge dismissed that suit saying the city was protected by immunity. Today The Mississippi Supreme Court reversed the Alcorn County ruling and ordered the case to go to trial.
