Shipman Named OCSD Citizen Of Year

(OXFORD) WCBI – Adrian Shipman of Oxford is the Oxford School District’s Citizen of the Year but its for more than just her work in the city.

The award winner  is a tireless volunteer with teh district but gained statewide note when she sued the Secretary of State saying a proposed

alternate ballot initiative requiring that schools be fully funded each year was too closely worded to the original . A judge sided with Shipman and rewrote parts of the alternate proposal but that decision is being appealed by Governor Phil Bryant  Shipman has 2 children in the Oxford district
