Shopping Local This Black Friday

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — It’s important to remember that many local stores and small businesses have great deals Friday as well.

Savings started early in Downtown Columbus , as Park Place Boutique and Salon opened at 2 a.m.

Shoppers lined up before the doors opened to get some great local deals and savings will continue throughout the day.

People say they love to shop local because you get a more personal retail experience, getting treated like family instead of just another dollar.

“Why not spend money with your friends and your family. With this being such a family atmosphere place and all of us being friends with Park and knowing the story behind the business, you know it’s good to give money back to somebody that was so loving to all of us,” says Lee Bo Davis.

Shopping local helps the economy because dollars stay local, investing more back into the city.
