Sixth Graders Moving at Webster Schools

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Webster County schools will have a little different look next year. And it’s not just because a new high school is opening at East webster.

The school district is going to a more traditional middle school format this fall. That means sixth graders will attend school on the campuses at Eupora High and East Webster High rather than at elementary school campuses.

The district made the decision because the state’s new Core Curriculum requires more cross teaching and skills among sixth, seventh and eighth graders. Having sixth graders at separate campuses made that difficult.

Students already have been getting tours to get them comfortable with the new arrangement.
