They each sported their teams soccer jersey, walking onto the field and waving their flags. The new Soccer Complex Opening Ceremony had many excited for the times to come.
“We feel wonderful having this new complex, this new complex is going to be a great addition for the training of our children in soccer, of course the complex was built just for the children. To participate in soccer, but we’re also looking down the road for some tournaments and it’s just a great atmosphere out here today and I’m very happy,” said parent Greg Lewis.
It’s the opening that hundreds in Columbus have been waiting for as dozens of soccer teams came out to march and show off their new soccer complex.
“We’ve been waiting for a few years for it, we’ve been coming down here and watching the progress on it building it. I know my daughter is super excited to be down there playing. Were just super excited to be down here on opening ceremony day and to get it all going,” said parent Angela Corbett.
The complex with will host a variety of different football and soccer leagues. The kids running on the field Saturday made the opening kick off official.

“I think it’s great for all these kids and stuff and we grew up playing soccer and so I’m really excited about this fields and I really wish I get to play on them too,” said Indie Yarborough.
