HOUSTON, Miss. (WCBI)- Many times the transition back to life in the United States can be pretty challenging.

Being abroad in war-ravaged countries may make adjusting back to life hard for them and their families.

Captain Brenton Montgomery of the 288th Sapper Company says while it may take some adjusting, overall, they are coming along okay.

“You’ve got soldiers that have civilian jobs and they go over there and do their military service and they come back and return to their civilian jobs so the transition for us has actually been quite smooth with all the great support from MS national guard, the city of Houston, Chickasaw county. Just makes it so much easier, says Captain Brenton Montgomery.

Other soldiers we spoke to say some of the biggest challenges they faced in Afghanistan was getting used to the different living conditions and terrain.
