Video: Starkville Mayor Could Veto Tuesday’s Decision to Leave Out Plus One Insurance Option

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Starkville Mayor Parker Wiseman could veto the board of alderman’s decision to amend the city’s plus one insurance option as early as Thursday.

Wiseman has 10 days to file the veto.

Tuesday night, the board amended the policy to extend only to legally married couples.

Under the old coverage, homosexual and straight employees in a relationship with a significant other could have opted to pay for insurance coverage for their partner.
