Starkville To Pay Tribute To Fallen Officer

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Hattiesburg Police officer Liquori Tate will be brought back to his hometown of Starkville for burial after his funeral service  Saturday. He will be buried at Fox Cemetery.

Tate and Officer Benjamin Deen were gunned down during a traffic stop on May 9th.

Starkville police chief Frank Nichols says his officers will escort Tate’s remains to the cemetery when the processional arrives in Starkville. He invites the community to line both sides of Highway 12 and Spring Street to honor him.

Nichols estimates the arrival time to be between 5:30 and 6:00pm.
