STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The year Jeraldine Harris was born, the first steamboat passed through the Panama Canal and World War one began. That was in the year 1914.

Now, 100 years later her family and friends are celebrating her long and faithful journey to a century.

Harris and loved ones gathered at the old Co-Co building in Starkville to honor her years and more importantly their faith.

Harris is a mother of 10 with only five remaining. When she was asked what her secret was to living a long and healthy life she said, “The good Lord.”
