State Business Tax Climate Rankings Released

Mississippi’s business tax policy gets high marks from a national policy group.

The Tax Foundation says the state has the 18th best business tax climate in the country. That’s better than any other Southern state except Tennessee, which ranked 15th. Mississippi gets especially high marks for its corporate and workman’s compensation tax structures. Its worst marks were for its property taxes, which ranked 33rd. Alabama ranked 28th and Arkansas 39th. The best states were Wyoming and South Dakota while New Jersey and New York were worst.
