Stewart Woman Arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine

STARKVILLE, Miss. (Press Release) — A Stewart woman was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Starkville police arrested Stewart resident Melody Stagg following reports of a suspicious incident at the Walmart in Starkville.

Officers received a call at about 5:30 a.m. April 14 regarding the incident, and noticed Stagg had slurred speech, constricted pupils and poor motor skills.

Methamphetamine paraphernalia was spotted by officers as they were talking with Stagg, and upon further investigation found her to be in possession of methamphetamine, too.

Stagg was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Her initial court appearance at the Starkville Municipal Court was yesterday, and her bond was set at $5,000.
