Video: Students Take a Trip Back In Time with ‘Living History Day’

It was a trip back in time for hundreds of school students as they experienced a “Living History Day” at Tupelo’s Oren Dunn Museum.

There were blacksmith demonstrations, dance and music, soap making and other examples of life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Organizers say many of the youngsters have no idea how people used to live before the age of the internet.

“They have fun they’re out here laughing, we’ve got a corn grinder over there they didn’t even know what that was, to make meal and flour instead of going to the grocery store and buying a sack of it,” said Janice Anthony of the Oren Dunn Museum.

Another “Living History Day” takes place October 12th.
