Sturgis Special Election Set

STURGIS, Miss. (WCBI) – The Sturgis Board of Aldermen will hold a special election for an alderman replacement.

The board accepted Quinnia Yates resignation at Tuesday’s meeting. Yates joined the board more than two years ago after running unopposed in a special election. She resigned as an alderman and moved out of Sturgis to be with family because of personal illness. October 23rd is set as a special election date for voters to elect Yates’ replacement. The last qualifying date is October second.
