Sunday Shooting Sends Husband To Hospital, Wife To Jail

PITTSBORO, Miss. (WCBI) — A Calhoun County woman is charged with aggravated domestic violence following a Sunday afternoon shooting.

Rebecca Wright called the sheriff’s department about 1:30 saying she had just shot her husband Doyle Wright in the chest.

Calhoun County Sheriff Greg Pollan says Rebecca Wright claims shots were fired at her first and that the couple was struggling over the gun when she shot her husband.

He actually left the scene on a four-wheeler but was eventually taken to the hospital.

Wright was charged with domestic aggravated assault.
