Video: Suspect Photo Released In Friday Afternoon Verona Bank Robbery

VERONA, MISS. (WCBI) – Authorities are on the lookout for the suspect who robbed a Verona bank this afternoon.

It was around 3 o clock when authorities say a man walked into the Renasant Bank in Verona, approached a teller and handed her a note demanding money, or those in the bank would be harmed.

The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and witnesses tell police he left on foot. The Verona Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI are investigating and looking for clues.

“Now there could have been another accomplice in the area that picked him up but that’s just leads we’re trying to find out, one thing that could help, if you were in the area of the Renasant Bank in Verona anytime between 2:30 and 3 and saw any type of suspicious activity once you get this release that would help us then contact Crimestoppers , the Sheriff’s department or the Verona Police Department,” said Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson.

Witnesses say the suspect was wearing some type of camouflage outfit. No one was hurt during the crime.
