Video: Suspicious Package Reported At Sulligent City Hall

Update: Law enforcement tell WCBI no bomb was found. Investigators did find keys and batteries in a pouch. The scene is being cleared now.

SULLIGENT, Ala. (WCBI) – At least one block around Sulligent, Alabama city hall has been evacuated and shut down due to a suspicious package.

Lamar County Sheriff Hal Allred says it’s unclear what is inside the package.

However, for everyone’s safety law enforcement have called in other agencies to check out the item.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and Florence Police Department are responding.

The area will be shut down for a while.’

ALEA Spokesman Trooper Jonathan Appling tells WCBI the agency’s bomb squad was requested by the Sulligent Police Department.
