Teens Injured, Woman Charged After Winona Hit and Run

WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) — A 35-year-old Winona woman is charged with aggravated assault, second offense DUI and other driving offenses after allegedly hitting two teenagers Saturday night and leaving the scene.

Police say Patricia Mitch was picked up at a home of Highway 51 South after the two girls, ages 14 and 15, were able to provide officers with a description of the car and other information. Mitch was released on $21,463 bond.

The two girls told police they were walking along the east side of Powell Street toward Highway 51 at about 5 p.m. Saturday when a green car occupied by two women struck them from the rear. The car stopped momentarily and then left.

The girls were treated and released from Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona.
