COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus program is making sure kids have something to do this summer, to help keep them off the streets.

The All-Volunteer Group Sports MOMS continue to provide fun activities.

Each Monday at Sim Scott Park for two hours kids are coming out to to play games and hangout.

This week, two sponsors provided a game system truck and food.

Organizers hope it’s something kids look forward to every week.

“Basically we’re doing this is just let the kids in the community know that we love them. We are hear for them and having something to look forward too,” said Sport Mom Sara Sanders.

“A lot of people count the kids out in this neighborhood. You know them are the one where the blessings are,” said Sports Mom Yakinda O’Neal.

Food will be provided every Monday from 7-9 PM.
