The Mill Officially Opens

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The Mill in Starkville officially opened Thursday, and developers, partners, and locals celebrated the opening with a Roaring Twenties-themed party.

The hotel and grand conference center is now open for use.

Developer Mark Castleberry said he’s like a “proud granddaddy” and can’t wait for the new Mill to be put to good use.

He also said he was proud of the team he assembled to make the project happen.

“You were seeing people weren’t just punching a clock…” said Castleberry, “…they really became engaged with the property and really had a lot of pride in it.”

Area Director of Sales for Peachtree Hotel Group Barbara Piagari said the opening will allow state associations, local governments, and community organizations to hold meeting in the main ballroom that fits 550 people and a hotel with 104 available rooms.

Piagari said the opening will help the local economy by bringing in businesses and larger organization to the area.
