Traffic Delays In Tupelo

PRESS RELEASE

JACKSON, MISS., Thursday, August 22, 2013— The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) would like to announce a lane closure on Highway 145 in Lee County.

Beginning Friday, August 23, MDOT will begin phase three of the reconstruction of the Highway 145 and Green Street intersection as part of the State Route 6 four-lane project that will intersect at this location. Approximately one-half of a mile of the outside southbound lane through the intersection will be closed for approximately three months to allow reconstruction of the outside southbound lane.

This includes the widening of roadway for the addition of another lane, as well as the installation of drainage structures along the new roadway. The northbound lanes will continue operating as normal. Traffic delays are to be expected. MDOT will update motorists of lane closures as work continues.

This $26 million project was awarded to APAC-Mississippi, Inc.
