Triumph Over Fire

WINONA, Miss. – (WCBI) Winona Christian school leaders rebuild after a blaze last fall destroyed part of their school.

On October 22, 2012, the cafeteria, gym and several classrooms were destroyed by a blaze.

Thankfully, no one was injured.

It took them less than a year to rebuild. Monday night, Principal Cameron Wright, teaches and staff hosted a ribbon cutting and open house.

“We lost some classrooms. We lost our cafeteria and the gym. We had to play a basketball season now, where we don’t even get to practice here. We had to eat in classrooms for the most part. We had just built a new cafeteria and gym,” says Principal Cameron Wright.

The classrooms are ready, just in time for spring testing.
