Video: Truck Overturns in Lowndes County Wreck

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A heavy load of scrap metal could be to blame for a truck overturning Wednesday morning in Lowndes County.

The crash happened on Highway 789, better known as Artesia Road, just before 8 a.m.

State troopers say the driver, Jim Peterson of Columbus, was going south on Highway 45 and turning onto 789 when the truck overturned.

The big rig is registered to Volume Freight of Columbus.

It took several hours to clean up the scrap metal.

MHP continues to investigate the wreck.
