TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — The Tupelo Airport Board is concerned about the number of passengers in the first two months of service of Seaport Airlines.

The board heard a report from a representative of Seaport who said the numbers were good for the start up and very comparable to a similar size market Seaport has established itself in.

Board members were not so enthusiastic about the numbers. Airport manager Josh Abramson said he feared the carrier would not have enough passengers to remain qualified for federal subsidies.

Board members also discussed complaints of substantial delays in the service. Seaport pledged that service will improve once the new aircraft come on line.
