Tupelo Close to Naming New Airline

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Tupelo is closer to getting a new airline.

The Tupelo Airport Authority Board has called a special meeting for November 30 to discuss commercial air service.

That’s when WCBI was told they’ll announce the new airline.

The deadline for the recommendation for the U.S. Department of Transportation is the 30th.

Just last week, the board looked over bids submitted by four airline carriers to provide service to the airport.

This comes after Seaport Airlines abruptly stopped flying there last month.

Tupelo has been without commercial flights since October 23.
