TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) –  A Tupelo man will spend six years in prison for raiding his sister in laws estate.

Louis Aldridge, 67, was handed that prison time Friday by Judge James L. Roberts in Lee County Circuit Court.

Aldridge pleaded guilty last month to three counts of embezzlement taking more than a half million dollars from the accounts of Florence Aldridge.  In addition to the jail time, Aldridge must also pay back more than $552,000.

Judge Roberts sentenced Aldridge, on count one, to 10 years in prison with four years suspended, six to serve, followed by five years of post-release supervision.  The Court suspended a $25,000 fine and ordered that Aldridge pay $552,000 in restitution and also $100 to the Mississippi Crime Victim Compensation Program.  On counts two and three, Aldridge was sentenced to ten years suspended with those counts to run consecutively.

Louis Aldridge is the father of State Rep. Brian Aldridge.  Brian Aldridge has also been ordered to pay back more than $200,000 in connection with the case.  Part of the money his father  stole was funneled through the accounts of Touched By An Angel Ministries ,which Brian Aldridge founded and ran.

Brian Aldridge did not face criminal charges in the case.
