Tupelo Man Killed in Crash

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Police are investigating the crash that killed a Tupelo man Wednesday night.

It happened around 5 p.m. on Cliff Gookin Boulevard.

A westbound car reportedly veered into oncoming traffic, colliding nearly head-on with another vehicle near South Thomas Street.

Lee County coroner Carolyn Green says 69-year-old Hal Veal, Jr. was killed.

She says he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

A person in the other car was hospitalized.

Tupelo police are investigating the crash.
