Tupelo Police Make Assault, Shoplifting Arrests
TUPELO, Miss. (Police Press Release) — The Tupelo Police Department has made an arrest in connection with an aggravated assault.
On 02-11-15, officers were dispatched to an aggravated assault at Barley Courts Apartments on South Gloster St. Upon arrival they found a female victim that had been cut multiple times.
Witnesses were able to give a suspect and vehicle description to officers. Elinor Clark was arrested a short time later.
The victim was transported to NMMC and treated for her injuries.
Lee County Justice Court Judge Chuck Hopkins set Clark’s bond at $20,000.
In an unrelated case, Tupelo police investigators made an arrest after a series of felony shopliftings.
Marcus Vaughn has been charged with two counts of felony shoplifting. Vaughn is accused of shoplifting jewelry from local pawnshops on February 4 and February 5.
Lee County Justice Court Judge Chuck Hopkins set Vaughn’s bond at $30,000.
Vaughn is currently on probation with MDOC.
The Verona Police Department assisted with the investigation.
