Tupelo Residents get to Meet with Ward 3 Candidates

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Tupelo residents will have a chance to hear from the candidates for the city’s vacant Ward 3 City Council seat in advance of Thursday’s Special Election.

The Daily Journal will sponsor a candidate forum Tuesday September 2nd at 7:30P.M.  at Lawndale Presbyterian Church.

All seven candidates are scheduled to attend. They’ll will make brief statements and answer questions.

The Ward 3 seat came up for grabs when Jim Newell resigned in August after he and his wife moved out of the ward.

The special election will be Thursday September fourth, with a runoff September 18th if necessary
