TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Tupelo theater lovers had the chance to enjoy a street fiesta this weekend to raise money for the Tupelo Community Theater.

The event, “Music, Monet, and Margaritas,” was put on by the Lyric Krewe – the support organization for TCT.

It included a silent auction, and food from Outback Steakhouse.

“The funds we raise tonight will go towards theater maintenance,” said Charlie White, Lyric Krewe. “They’ll go toward theater scholarship. They’ll go toward assisting the plays with their set design and any materials they need. Sort of all encompassing. If the theater needs money we’re here as the Lyric Krewe to help raise those funds.”

White says they hope to raise about $10,000 between the silent auction and food sales.

Their new season starts in September, and runs through April.
