STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- Starkville residents will need to set an extra alarm Saturday night.

Starkville Electric Department will perform maintenance for a mainline and switch repair starting at midnight.

The maintenance will cause a routine power outage that will only last five hours.

“Remember to charge your cell phone batteries. Get an alarm clock that’s got a battery operated alarm on it, so you can go to church Sunday morning. Also, make sure you keep your refrigerator door closed. No midnight snacking this night so you can keep the food cold. Also, have a flashlight with you in case you need to get up and move around your house,” says Chris Stanley.

This is a five year project that costs 20-million dollars.
