Two Die In Attala Plane Crash

KOSCIUSKO, Miss. (AP) – Attala County officials say two men died in a single engine plane crash.

Coroner Sam Bell says 52-year-old Allen Ray Ross, and 50-year-old Mark Deason, both of Kosciusko, were flying in a Bellanca aircraft over the Nile Community just before 5 p.m. Sunday when the plane crashed.

Bell says both victims died at the scene.

The sheriff’s department says the crashed occurred at the intersection of County Roads 1103 and 1106 in southern Attala County.

Federal Aviation spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said in an email to The Associated Press the FAA is investigating the crash and that the National Transportation Safety Board will determine what caused it.
