Two Facing Prostitution Charges After Shooting In Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (Press Release) – On October 2, 2015 at approximately 3:56am, Officers responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of the Regal Inn in Starkville, MS. The two subjects were identified as 35 year old Jessie Orlando Carpenter from Starkville, MS. and 21 year old Kareema Lashae Ward from Starkville, MS. Jessie Carpenter had suffered a gunshot wound to the arm prior to the Officers arrival on the scene. Jessie Carpenter was transported by ambulance to OCH Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released to the Starkville Police Department in stable condition.
Jessie Orlando Carpenter was charged with Procuring a Prostitute and Aggravated Assault. He was processed and taken to Oktibbeha County Jail. His bond has been set at $5,000 for Aggravated Assault and $500 for Procuring a Prostitute.
Kareema Lashae Ward was charged with Prostitution and Aggravated Assault. She was process and taken to Oktibbeha County Jail. Her bond has been set at $5,000 for Aggravated Assault and $500 for Prostitution.
