Video: Two Injured in Noxubee County Shooting

SHUQUALAK, Miss. (WCBI) — A shooting at a New Year’s Eve party leaves two people injured in Noxubee County.

Sheriff Terry Grassaree says a man and a woman were shot in the back in the parking lot of the Track Side Club in Shuqualak at about 3:30 Thursday morning.

The man was treated and released from Noxubee General Hospital, but the woman remains in Baptist Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus

Grassaree says deputies continue to interview witness to determine what led to the violence and possible suspects.

“A crowd was out here, maybe 50 to 150, and they got into it. two groups of people got into it. shots rang out,” Grassaree said of the scene at the club which is tucked away on a side street not far from downtown Shuqualak in southern Noxubee County.
