Two Suspected in Noxapater Hardware Burglary

WINSTON COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Winston County sheriff’s investigators have charged two Louisville men and recovered eight of 11 handguns stolen during a Halloween burglary at Noxapater Hardware.

Chief Detective Connie Hampton says 22-year-old Clifton Smith and 27-year-old Carlos Daniels are being held on $100,000 bonds on burglary charges. The eight handguns were recovered at their homes but the suspects aren’t disclosing what happened to the other three.

Hampton says they also are suspects in two other burglaries during the same period.

Daniels has a prior felony conviction and faces additional charges of felon in possession of a weapon.

Detectives are searching for one other person who may have information on the crimes.
