NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) – A burglary arrest in Union County leads to a drug bust in Booneville.

Rebecca McDonald, 39, and Samantha Barnes, 27, are charged in connection with a burglary on County Road 157 in Union County.

Sheriff Jimmy Edwards tells WCBI a neighbor saw a vehicle at the home and alerted the renters.

Edwards says some stolen property was found inside the vehicle after deputies made a traffic stop.

The arrests led to a search warrant in Booneville.

Booneville Police Chief Michael Ramey tells WCBI the search happened at 112 Eudora Heights.

55 grams of meth, 43 grams of cocaine, a gun, and over $1,000 was recovered.

Ramey says stolen items from Union County, along with property from Alabama and Georgia were found at the home.

A woman was arrested. Her name and charges are not being released.

More arrests are expected.
