Union County Deputy Circuit Clerk Arrested

NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Union County deputy circuit clerk is accused of changing the address of non-resident voters, making it appear they live in the county in exchange for voting for a specific candidate.

Late Thursday afternoon, the Mississippi Attorney General’s office told WCBI that Rhonda Wilhite Dowdy is charged with one count of voter fraud.

Dowdy has worked in the Union County Circuit Clerk’s office since 1987.

A spokesperson cited an ongoing investigation and no other details were released.
