COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Helping those in need. That was the message Tuesday from the United Way of Lowndes County.

Executive Director Patricia Brock gave an update today on the organization’s efforts in the community.

The United Way helps those with a wide variety issues, including homelessness, food, clothing and education.

Brock also talked about the importance of giving.

“Without the support of the local folks, we would not have anything to be able to help those that have the greatest needs. Having people step-up and give donations, having people step up and help us out with volunteering activities…just people being fully engaged in the community means a better life for everybody in the community,” said Brock.

Brock also reminded Rotary Club members about the upcoming October 24th Mississippi Day of Giving.
