University Fundraising Efforts Underway For Dan Jones

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI)- Dan Jones’ time spent as Ole Miss Chancellor is coming to an end, but there’s a new fundraising effort that aims to keep his name tied to the school.

Faculty, alumni and friends of the University have launched a $1.5 million campaign to fund the Chancellor Dan Jones Faculty chair.

Sponsors of the plan say its just their way of saying thanks to the man who planned close to a billion dollars in capital projects at the Oxford and Jackson campuses.

Jones was dismissed from the post by the state college board earlier this year, sparking controversy and debate.
