Update: ‘Persons of Interest’ Turn Selves in in Shooting Case

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Two men sought by Columbus police in connection with a Tuesday morning shooting turned themselves in just before 6 p.m. Tuesday night shortly after their pictures were broadcast on WCBI.

Investigators are calling Jarvis Louis Alexander, 23, and Kenny Riheam Armistad, 20, persons of interest in the case.

The gunfire erupted just before 9 A.M. in the 1,600 block of 7th Avenue South, near Newell Paper Company.

Shell casings could been seen on the ground nearby.

Witnesses tell WCBI an unidentified man was shot twice. His injuries didn’t appear to be life threatening.

The victim was taken to the hospital. Police did not have an update on his condition, as of Tuesday evening.
