COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) An update on two inmates who escaped over the weekend from Forrest County Community Work Center in Hattiesburg.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says the 22- year old James Robert Martin and 28-year old David Bass could be traveling into a 1993 white Buick Century with the disable plate C-3-8-9-9.

The car was reported stolen after 95-year old Ada Smith was found dead Sunday in her Lamar County home.

Martin and Bass were last seen in Hattiesburg around 5 p.m Saturday. They were wearing state issued green and white striped pants and white shirts with “MDOC CONVICT” printed on the back.

Martin is serving a five year sentence for Grand Larceny from Monroe County. Bass is serving a 7 year sentence for 5 convictions of Burglary from Lee County.

If anyone has any information on their whereabouts, contact local law enforcement or the Mississippi Department of Corrections. The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.
